My First Royalties!

Adrian Chan will be sending me my first royalties for my 2 lyrics through cheque in a few days~ I'm not planning to cash it though. Maybe I'll frame it & hang it somewhere in my room as a constant encouragement.

Have you ever felt like you can't move on anymore, but you saw something that reminds you to keep going? We all need something like this in life. ^-^

永遠的快樂

世界上, 有永遠的快樂嗎? 我認為...只要我們相信, 就會有. 永遠的快樂, 不需要踏破鐵鞋去尋找, 因為它就住在我們心裡面, 只要我們相信它, 它就會為我們發光發亮.

昨天, 他問我, "你以後都會這樣開心的嗎?" 我答道, "會呀!" 無論我們要面對的是怎樣的將來, 只要牽著他的手, 我就會有力量笑下去. 他失落的時候, 有甚麼比一個支持的笑容, 一個永遠快樂的人更有說服力去給他希望? =)

Self-improvement

Up till now, I believe that I'm a very lucky person, but of course hard work pays back too. I have a future career that I look forward to, because I really enjoy teaching. My interest of lyric writing has become a part time job for me, and it has given me great pleasure and satisfaction. I have a nice family, lots of good friends, and a loving boyfriend. I'm happy about the life I'm living and I'm a learned optimist. And of course I can't stop improving myself in any way I can~ I've started going to the YMCA last yr 'cause I haven't been exercising all these yrs. -_-" But now that it's summer, I'm going to go as often as I can. I've started to try baking cakes, and I'm going to learn cooking from my mom during summer. I'm driving more often and to farther places now, and I'm not scared anymore.

It might sound funny to you, but driving from Markham to Scarborough is enough to make me proud of myself, because it's not something that I do everyday. Staying at YMCA for an hr makes me happy because I get tired easily but I'm gaining more strength now. Cooking steamed egg for dinner makes me feel wonderful because I dunno how to cook, and I'm beginning to learn from the greatest cook in my life. Seeing Yip, Roger and Blueair writing on here is a bonus because the number of entries have been declining after the first month, but now they're trying to add some more smiles & share their thoughts with us. Isn't life great?

It's not all those big "accomplishments" in my life that makes me grateful. It's the little things that add up. ^-^

Love

Saturday was our 3rd year anniversary~ 3 years isn't a super long time, but it's not a short period of time either. I'm glad that both of us enjoy the simplicity that love embraces. It doesn't matter if we spend everyday the same way, because we think differently and feel differently everyday. It's not what we do that matters, it's how we do it. Sometimes I feel so good and so close to him when he's working in the basement and I'm working upstairs. It's the little reminders that pop up in my mind telling me that I'm in love that makes every single day so special. I'm so thankful that we've found each other. ^-^

昨晚才決定要錄一隻屬於自己的 album, 今天已經做了很多! 主題是甚麼? 當然是愛. ^^" "曰云...愛. 說話" 包含十首我填的歌, 已經有六個作曲人允許我用他們的歌了. Thanks to Blueair, Davy, Yin, Eric, Paul & Nick~ 我在每首詞的前面都寫了一段說話, 是給讀者讀的. 在另一個 file, 我在詞的前面寫了讀白, 是給聽者聽的. ^^" 我還寫了 foreword 了~ 有興趣為我的 album 寫一小段文字的朋友, 請聯絡我. 至於 cover design, 我有少少 concept, 也有朋友替我想 ideas~ 我會花些心思在歌詞的 booklet 上, 畢竟這將會是我第一本寫的"書". =P

為甚麼要錄 album? 其實一直都想為自己造個類似 portfolio 的東西, 但又不想單單是歌詞. 雖然大部份選出來的歌都有人錄過, 但自己錄, 感覺總會較接近. 而且, 上星期錄了 "五分鐘", 不如錄多些吧. =P

Plan 出來的整個 concept 也算是完整了, 希望星期六可以錄 "520" & 試試那些讀白.

Thank you Blueair for giving me so many suggestions, you kept me moving~

持續200年的五分鐘傳說...

5 mins... was never a period of time thats long enough or significant enough to be treated with respect. This 5 mins is different. It was a spark bright enough to light up an on-going fire and warm everyone with a strong sense of love ^^.
From someone who was at the edge of not believing in himself and took 5 mins to create a drop of sparks, to you who fill up my 5 mins with beautiful, heart-warming words, to Adrian who believes in our spark, to Bert who gives our 5 mins the strongest supporting strength, and to you and Yip who created the most beautiful sound there could ever be into our 5 mins...

And you know wut?

There's more to come ^^.

It is only the starting of our 200 years Legend.

Adrian Chan said he loves my voice~ Totally didn't expect that from him. Super gum dung. T_T As for the "good singer" compliment, Blueair should take the credit. =P Adrian even asked me to sing demo for him next time, & said that he likes the "pure emotions" that I put into the song. I saved the conversation~ =P
